In doctor assisted suicide the physician provides a a means of death (most likely a prescription), which the PATIENTS administer themselves, therefore the patient is ingesting the lethal dose without the help from anyone else (other than the doctor who provided the prescription). In euthanasia the physician acts directly in administering the lethal or dose or injection to the patient.
