my refrigerator quit working and is making a clicking noise?

    you need a PTC. Here is the article link to see how to replace it. http://gomestic.com/do-it-yourself/how-to-replace-... If you had given the model number I would of given you the part number.

    It`s either a relay or a bad compressor . If it`s the compressor , it`s likely not worth repairing . If the existing relay is the "electronic' type , it`s likely fried if your fridge is over 5 years old . If it`s the "amperage" type , it may be a stuck plunger .

    In either case , you can buy a complete start package consisting of a pre-wired relay , overload , and start capacitor for around $25.00 at any major appliance parts retailer . They`re usually known as a 3N1 kit .
