Hot stars are blue, cold stars are red.

Its the opposite of what we have here on Earth. On Earth, red usually denotes hot and blue usually denotes blue, but in reality blue is hotter than red. If you take a metal bar and heat it on a fire, it will change into red, than white. If it could get any hotter it would turn blue.

The hottest stars are colored bright blue. The coldest alive stars shine a dim red. However, certain stars after super nova still retain some heat, they are called dwarf stars and glow a very faint red-brown color.

The hottest stars are blue and the coolest are red. The temperatures range in a sort of reverse rainbow pattern in the visual spectrum with blue and green being on the hot end, and red orange and yellow being more cool.
