Are the lies and propaganda spread by anti-immigration groups causing this type of behavior?

This has spilled over to the legal immigrants. How do you feel about it?

ADL Condemns Beating of Mexican Immigrant in Brooklyn

New York, NY, The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today strongly condemned a violent attack against a Mexican immigrant in Brooklyn in an apparent hate crime.

On September 23, Mario Vera was on his bicycle returning home when a group of three men allegedly shouted anti-Hispanic slurs and physically assaulted him. The attack left Mr. Vera hospitalized with serious injuries.

Ron Meier, ADL New York Regional Director, issued the following statement:

The vicious beating of Mario Vera, apparently motivated by anti-Latino sentiment, is another troubling example of baseless hatred being carried out to a violent conclusion. Whatever one's views on the immigration debate, bias-motivated violence is utterly unacceptable.

These crimes are intended to send a message of intimidation and instill fear, but if we stand together to condemn such acts, we can demonstrate that needless violence has no place in New York and will be countered at every turn. All members of the community should be treated fairly and with respect, regardless of their background.

i would have to say yes.

groups like NumbersUSA, CIS, and FAIR who were all created by john tanton have played a huge role in hatred and negative sentiment towards immigrants. john tanton is a known white supremacist who has created a network of anti immigration groups to serve his own agenda. these groups were quoted regularly by the main stream Media during the last debate. their Information is unreliable. the origins of these groups give a high degree of questionability to the information they put out. they also use inflammatory language, designed to create a inflammatory response to whomever hears it.

they hijacked the debate, spread lies, and i think because they were most quoted and sought after for information on illegal immigration, are to blame for the failure of CIR and the continuance of the immigration problem.

Illegal aliens are not immigrants. An illegal alien is not a race, so using attempting to use the "race card" doesn't work. Illegal aliens from over 180 countries (comprising ALL races) were deported from the U.S. last year. Calling illegal aliens immigrants is wrong. They are nowhere in the immigration process, as was already stated. Period. End of story.

Since most people can not tell legal immigrants from illegals it the inevitable and unenviable consequences of the failure of our government to rigidly enforce our immigration laws already in place. Add in our falling economy and the rage citizens feel about those who ignore our laws will boil over and effect all our lives. Illegal immigrants and those who support them are advocating the breaking of our laws. Why should they be surprised when others break the law? Look at the example that the illegals have set!

Who said it was "apparently motivated by anti-Latino sentiment"? Mario could very well have raped a 6 year old family member of one of those 3! Guessing at a motive is not proof of the motive!

CheckYur: That's 44 people a day! 25 is the number killed during the commission of a felony!

An even better question....Are the lies and propaganda spread by the supporters of illegal immigration (mostly Hispanics/Latinos) causing this type of behavior?

This has spilled over to the American citizens. How do you feel about it?

An estimated 9,125 American citizens are killed annually by illegal immigrants. That's 25 a day....and people question who is being violent? What a joke!

I oppose any violence against anyone. Send illegal immigrants back to their home country and institute any particular ban for them - certainly - but violence of any kind is just wrong.

I've never heard of any "anti-immigration groups". What is your source? Are you really talking about illegal aliens? If so they are NOT the same thing.
