You can travel to other parts of the U.S. without losing your TPS status. Both Puerto Rico and Hawaii are parts of the U.S. Going to either place would be the same as going from Nevada to California.

Just as long as you are LEGAL you should be fine.CBP in Puerto Rico does pre-inspections to whom is legal & illegal when coming back to the US mainland. This is due to the problems of illegal immigration from many of the surrounding Caribbean Isles.

"While processing a little more than five million passengers, CBP officers have interdicted more than 4,657 inadmissible aliens. The majority of theses cases were passengers arriving on commercial flights, cruise ships or the ferries with fake identities or traveling with counterfeit documents. In other cases, it was product of pre-flight inspections, where CBP officers conduct pre-inspection of passengers flying domestic from Puerto Rico to the continental U.S. In these cases, interceptions commonly include aliens that entered in yolas but were not apprehended and are attempting to reach the mainland.
