Does the Texas comptroller of public accounts serve at the governor’s pleasure?

    No, he does not serve at the governor's pleasure. He is an elected official, just like the governor, and therefore serves at the voter's pleasure. Only if he were appointed by the governor would he serve as the governor's pleasure.
