Oh wow! I learned to check my sources, and make decisions made on my experiences and not blindly repeating what I've been told!
I've mostly learned that there are going to be some things where there is no clear answer. Where there are two opposing sides that swear by their answers.
Is garlic poisonous to dogs? Debatable, some give it to their dogs to prevent fleas, others swear it killed their dog.
Does kibble clean a dogs teeth? Most say no, that this was fabricated by kibble companies to make more sales, but I was reading an article the other day that quoted a vet who recommend people don't feed wet food because it "doesn't clean the dog's teeth like kibble does."
Does the alpha roll work? Not for me, but others will swear by it.
So on and so forth, you should give answers and make decisions based on your own experiences, not just what you've heard.
Duncan has little to no strengths, mental or physical, it's more of his heart. He's a pretty gangly, clumsy, dumb (he has a kind of blank look that makes him appear dumber than he really is) German Shepherd mix, but he's got heart.
Cameron's smart, she'll learn anything for a treat. She knows how to untangle her outdoor line, she knows when she's wrapped around something to back up, etc. She's also a very pretty, powerful Chow Chow mix.
