Somaliland (Somali: Soomaaliland, Arabic: أرض الصومال‎ Arḍ aṣ-Ṣūmāl) is a territory located in the Horn of Africa. It is largely regarded internationally as being an autonomous region of Somalia.[2][3] Although no sovereign state has recognized the independence of Somaliland, Israel has expressed this possibility.[4] Since 1991 it has been governed as the Republic of Somaliland,[1] which is considered a de facto independent state.[5][6][7]

The republic, which declared its independence in May 1991,[8][9] remains unrecognised by any state or international organisation.[10][11] Although many other foreign governments maintain informal ties with the state, with an increasing number of foreign delegations and embassies having been established in the capital Hargeisa, it does not have full diplomatic recognition.[12][13]

Somaliland is bordered by Ethiopia in the south and west, Djibouti in the northwest, the Gulf of Aden in the north, and by the Somalian region of Puntland in the east, covering most of the territory of the former British Somaliland protectorate.[1]

There is no such country as Somailiand. It has a goverrnment of sorts but no other country recognises it. It's in Africa.
