Program to Make Acoustic Guitar, Sound like Electric?
Hi, is there a Program, or VST plug-in for any music software like audacity, which can alter the sound (of a acoustic guitar being played) To sound like a rockin electric?
I'm just talking about a normal microphone recording the guitar, not any amp or pre-amp Acoustic-Electric that can plug in.. i just have a Acoustic which i want to record through my normal microphone.
Why can't there be software to do this? a normal amp for an electric guitar or whatever to make it sound like "an electric guitar" sounds like it would be just the same for a microphone and the same effect to do on an acoustic being recorded normaly.

IK Multimedia makes a VST plug-in called Amplitube. It pretty awesome. It's an amplifier simulator
that will make your acoustic sound more like an electric. It comes with tons of effects too.Source(s): http://protools-mixing.com/ http://protoolsmixing.blogspot.com/ http://protools-mixing.com/discography/

Get a pickup for the acoustic guitar, and add effects. Most of the "distortion" is from outboard electronics, not on the electric guitar.
