Why do Americans love the big corporate banks so much?
"Simon Johnson, the MIT economist, estimates that the six biggest banks in the United States had combined assets equal to 17% of GDP in 1995. These days that number has expanded to 63% of GDP... the financial crisis has actually helped this growth."
Why do Americans love the huge corporate banks so much?
As Americans, we vote for politicians who are basically servants to the banks, and we refuse to vote for third-party candidates who would stand up to Wall Street.
Remember, both Senators Obama and McCain voted for George W. Bush's TARP program - and yet, they together got over 97% of the presidential vote!
Why are Americans such dumb morons who willingly hand their lives over to these enormous banks? Why don't Americans stand up and demand that the banks be broken up on antitrust grounds?
