Saying for St. Patricks day? Sending to Great Grandmother?
Which saying do you like best for a card I am sending to my great grandma for st. patrick's day? She is Irish btw so anything talking about being Irish is ok.
1
When Irish eyes are smiling,
Tis like a morn in spring.
With a lilt of Irish laughter
You can hear the angels sing
When Irish hearts are happy
All the world is bright and gay
When Irish eyes are smiling
Sure, they steal your heart away.
2
Walls for the winds,
A roof for the rain,
Tea beside the fire,
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire!
3
Leprechauns, castles, good luck and laughter
Lullabies, dreams, and love ever after.
Poems and songs with pipes and drums
A thousand welcomes when anyone comes.
That's the Irish for you!
4
May the lilt of lush laughter lighten ever road,
May the midst of Irish magic shorten every road.
May you taste the sweetest pleasures
that fortune ever bestowed,
And may all your friends remember
all the favors you are owed.
5 (can use this one along with another one too)
Go mbeannai Dia duit
(May God Bless You)
6
These things I warmly wish to you-
Someone to love
Some work to do
A bit o' sun
A bit o' cheer
And a guardian angel always near.

I like number two.
Your grandmother might like reading this article, too.

If she is Irish I would go with something "as Gaeilge"
I would recommend:
Faoiseamh a gheobhadsa
Seal beag gairid
Ar oileán mara,
Ag siúl cois cladaigh
Maidin is tráthnóna
O Luan go satharn
Thiar ag baile.
Faoiseamh a gheobhadsa
Seal beag gairid
I measc mo dhaoine,
Ó chrá croí,
Ó bhuairt aigne,
Ó uaigneas duairc,
Ó chaint ghontach,
Thiar ag baile.
It translates as:
I will find peace of mind
For a short time
Amongst my kind
On an ocean isle
Walking by the sea front
Morning and evening
Monday ‘til Saturday
Back home in the west
I will find peace of mind
For a short time
Amongst my kind
On an ocean isle
From heart ache
From loneliness
From daily worries
Back home in the west
I’ll find peace of mind
I’ll find rest
I’ll find peace of mind.
I know personally if someone were to send me anything on St. Patrick's Day I'd like it to be more personal then the whole Irish luck and leprechauns thing. This is one of the best known Irish poems and is actually one that is studied extensively in school. It's also one that has beautiful sentiment to it.

I like this one the best, it sounds more personal and as if you're genuinely saying it to her. 4 May the lilt of lush laughter lighten ever road, May the midst of Irish magic shorten every road. May you taste the sweetest pleasures that fortune ever bestowed, And may all your friends remember all the favors you are owed.

4 is my personal favorite, I always send it to my family and friends on St. Patty's Day! Add #5 to it :) (I'm Irish too)

O Moonshine dear Moonshine oh how I love thee,
Ya kill me ol' father but ar' ya try me.
Oh bless all moonshiners and bless all moonshine,
Oh it's breath smells as sweet as the dew on the vine
