In 2009 I closed an account I had with Wells Fargo, just took out my money knowing that I did not have any checks out there, or use a debit card. I also only cashed my paycheck and deposited the amount, but withdrew funds inside the bank. A few months ago, I get a letter from a collection agency, saying I owed $1,220.00 which was originally $591.00 (amount I took out when I closed account) plus interest and it was from Wells Fargo in 2009. Ok, I closed that account but never received any letters, collections anything, and W.F. told me they did not have ANYTHING in collections, credit recovery, etc. to indicate I owed anything.
After several weeks, trying to find out about this, I was in the meantime garnished for my wages. I was never even sent a notice for owing this. Plus, I was never in Cheque systems, and it was not on my credit report-ever. Well, had to pay this but now Im wondering how this was possible???? I did extensive research on this and everyone told me there was no money owing. email@example.com
