what is the difference between Israel and Iran concerning nuclear weapons?

Iran has signed the nuclear non proliferation treaty and does not comply and Israel refuses to sign the non proliferation treaty.

International Atomic Energy Agency says Jerusalem must join Non-Proliferation Treaty, allow it to monitor its facilities. Iranian ambassador hails decision as 'triumph'; 'Israel will not cooperate with this resolution,' says Atomic Energy Commission official

Iran is not co-operating with the UN nuclear watchdog's investigation into the country's nuclear programme, the new head of the agency has said.

The treaty gives signers benefits at developing civilian uses. THAT's the big deal of why anyone signs. Iran chose that & should comply. Israel didn't. IADA doesn't have authority to say anything about Jerusalem. Of course they want signing - it boosts their mission.

    More importantly...

Iran threatens to wipe out another country. They can reach Eastern European capitals now with missiles able to carry nuclear warheads. They will reach Western, & very possiblity Eastern shore U.S..

They treated their own citizens violently & with dictatorship control. Not a good sign for safety. They support military groups that frequently use terrorist tactics, & have sleeper cells that are under only loose control -- so a weapon could get to an unstable group without respect for life. These groups, Hamas & Hizbollah are on Israel's borders adding weight to the threats.

Less there be any doubt, Arab countries have changed their alliances to support Israel & the US, because of how threatened they are of a nuclear Iran. It will completely change the dynamics of the region if Iran can demand anything it wants. And there is an old conflict in the region of who will build the next empire, Iranian or Arabic.

    ==================

    Quotes themselves ---

Iran's leadership -- is all about hating "the west." To them Israel is just the entry symbol. They hold yearly conferences on how to conquer Israel & then the West. So this wasn't some minor statement. Here's their own words, from "World without Zionism" yearly conference:

    http://www.memri.org/report/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/2711.ht...

In Ahmandinejad's following words - he states the conflict is not about Israel, but is 300 years old with the West.

""Ahmadinejad articulated the real meaning of Zionism: '...We must see what the real story of Palestine is... The establishment of the regime that is occupying Jerusalem was a very grave move by the hegemonic and arrogant system [i.e. the West] against the Islamic world. We are in the process of an historical war between the World of Arrogance [i.e. the West] and the Islamic world, and this war has been going on for hundreds of years.

"'In this historical war, the situation at the fronts has changed many times. During some periods, the Muslims were the victors and were very active, and looked forward, and the World of Arrogance was in retreat.

"'Unfortunately, in the past 300 years, the Islamic world has been in retreat vis-à-vis the World of Arrogance… During the period of the last 100 years, the [walls of the] world of Islam were destroyed and the World of Arrogance turned the regime occupying Jerusalem into a bridge for its dominance over the Islamic world...

    "

An important side note is that the Iranian people tend to be educated & progressive. They do not necessarily support their leadership.

Signing the NPT has benefits of getting much-needed assistance in civilian nuclear technology. Such assistance Iran is getting from Russia and Germany as part of the treaty.

There's no legal basis to force a country to sign the NPT, but a country that signs it must comply with it.

Iran's leaders have repeatedly declared that Israel would cease to exist, and do that while they're developing nuclear weapons. This is a threat just like from a man cocking his gun and saying you're going to die.

Iran is not only a danger to Israel, but to the entire region.

Israel, on the other hand, has not threatened to destroy another country, or questioned its right to exist.

Iran talks tough because they are weak. Israel has no right to say that it is morally superior. Leaders everywhere are destined to burn, you know where....

Actually, I don't believe those Religions that do nothing but lie. Hell is only a fear tactic used by those in power.

That one answer was right..... Israel has them & Iran does not.........It also will not get them...

Nuclear weapons are guaranteed to be the suicide of the Human Race..........It's too bad that so much innocent life must be brutally slaughtered & poisoned to death by the Insanity of those who support nuclear so-called defense

It is sick & those people have lost their conscience. Love is the only hope we have. And, that one they call the god of Abraham is not the one. He does not really exist & he only represents pure EVIL.

Israel is a good and decent nation well respected by civilized humanity all over the world.

Iran is a crazy house run by lunatics whose idiotic religion makes them a hazard to all life of Earth.

Israel is like a man, in fact like a mensche.

Iran is like a foaming at the mouth, snarling, stumbling, wild-eyed mad dog loose of the streets where children are playing.

The man will shoot the dog.

This will be doing the world a favor.

It will be applauded outwardly or inwardly by all rational and civilized men and women everywhere.

If you think different .... if you think little sea lawyer arguments are going to hold sway in the Court of World Opinion, you are hopelessly delusional.

There is little likelihood that Israel will use their bomb on a western city. We don't have that assurance with a country that supports strapping explosives to your body and pressing the trigger in a crowded marketplace. You decide. You have a good day now

Israel is allowed to brake the law.

Iran is not allowed to develop it's own resources future within the law.

    Israel is superior than anyone.

    Iran is nothing.

    HAHAHA oh good one.

Btw Iran has threatened no country! It's Israel that has threatened Iran alongside US.

Don't even get me started on how Jews screw the world over.
