Amazon.com is a huge public company.
Just make sure you are going to the correct domain and not a misspelling.
Company was founded in 1994.
They did $24 Billion gross revenue last year, and they have 24,000+ employees.
You want to look if you are buying directly from Amazon or from one of their sellers on amazon. Look for "ships directly from Amazon.com" to know you are buying directly from Amazon.com

I have been following, investing, and trading Amazon.com (AMZN) since their 1997 IPO date.
I said to clients back around 1999 early 2000 that AMZN would be one of the 3 key survivors of the .com bust. The others were ebay, and AOL, but I have had doubts about AOL since 2005.Source(s): --- Finance & Risk Management Consultant (see bio. add me to view post history)

My wife and I ordered two items and never received them. Amazons web site sucks. There is no way to get a hold of them. When I tried to negate the order Amazon said I can't. For the other item Amazon said I'd have to wait until it's delivered. Amazon is all automated with no way of emailing or calling them. My wife and I will have to stop payment on our credit card. I bet that gets their attention.
I've been with Amazon for years but they've gotten pretty shady of late.
