Holden is my alter-ego :-) While I'm not as cynical as he is, I can totally relate to his struggle of wanting to mature, yet finding adults (and thus society) as "phony" and corrupt, and therefore wanting to hold on to childhood. I know many teenagers who can relate to him.

I love him more than I love myself. I understand him so much it's insane, and if he was a real person and not just a book character, I would hunt him down and have his children.

A very confused person. I think he would benefit from an aspirin or something....

[With all that getting angry about phoneys and what not]

    i love him though.....

He's a douche and if it were a more modern book he'd be the emo kid that everyone thinks is weird.

He's a typical narcissistic teen: delusional, aggressive, and self serving.

  • He's a derranged asshole who's just as corrupt as he thinks society is.
