Bella Swan arrives in a new town where she thought she would be the outcast of the school she is attending. After the initial shock of how easily she fitted in, she soon realises who the real out-casts are. The Cullen family who sat in the corner of the canteen room hiding in the shadows.
Their unusually white skin and dark eyes with a hint of purple under them, liked they hadn;t been sleeping lately, took to Bella;s attention, especially one of them. Edward Cullen, beautiful and strange saves Bella from a near death experience.
Belly fell hopelessly and irrevocably in love with the aloof Edward, who had an otherworldly and irresistible beauty and grace. In some ways she;s very much the stereotypical head-over-heels in love teenager.
Twilight is the tale of Bella and Edward;s burgeoning relationship, brimming with standard teenage drama alongside the unexpected, because, after all, Edward and his family are vampires. I was fascinated and all hooked up while reading this.
However, the writing can be clunky at times. Edward;s perfection can be over-the-top, even for a fictitious super-human. But the descriptions of Forks leave you feeling like you can almost smell the damp air and hear the rain falling on the roof. The writing is beautiful with extraordinary descriptions of the outdoors, and encapsulating teenage culture through Bella;s sprit, and love for Edward. It;s highly entertaining.
Meanwhile, various things about the characters are revealed at good times throughout the book, so most readers would stay interested long enough to make it to the good parts.
Love has no boundaries. Love conquers all. The forbidden love between Edward and Bella makes Twilight one of the most addictive teen novels of all time. Even if you don;t like stories about vampires, you;ll love this book. It;s dangerous, emotional and extremely well written.
