Do you think the Health Care Summit Scam is a good idea?

Another huge waste of tax payer money to pay for another scam! Harry Reid already said they will shove this bill down are throats via the nuclear option no mater what the outcome. It should be noted in 2005 Harry was screaming about the nuclear option being a huge abuse of power.Democrat's have no intention of changing this scam and Republicans are going to say NO and Obama is going to say Republicans don't want health care! Republicans do want health care they do NOT want this scam that has little to do with health care. If Obama wants this bill to go threw then TAKE OUT the corruption. Not going to happen. So More tax dollars wasted. Which is the only thing this administration knows how to do.

It is a great idea. Now the sheep will see just how stupid they were and what a disaster this plan would have been.

First, it seems you listen to Fox News. The Nuclear Option is something the Republicans threatened when Bush was in office. It was to do away with the filibuster so Democrats couldn't block a court appointee. It has nothing to do with reconciliation which is majority rules, 51 out of 100 vote for something. Majority rules is Democratic. If Republicans want healthcare reform, why didn't they try to get something done when they had all of the power for 6 years. If saving 40,000 lives a year, for people who can't afford healthcare is wasting money, then you should examine your values and determine what the cost of a human life is worth. However, I agree that there is corruption because the bill feeds people to private insurance companies. The only way health insurance companies can make more money is to provide less healthcare. Do you want someone to decide what care you get knowing that they have a disincentive to provide you that care? Public healthcare, such as medicaid or medicare do not deny people care, only private healthcare companies do.

I don't support the current health care bill, but did you know that the nuclear option is NOT the same as budget reconciliation? The Democrats are proposing using Budget Reconciliation, not the nuclear option. I know that Rush has spent a lot of time recently harping on the Democrats views in 2005, but he somehow does not seem to understand the difference either.

In 2005, Democrats opposed the Nuclear Option, which was an attempt by Republicans led by Bill Frisk to amend the rules of the Senate...this proposal would have allowed Senate rules to be changed with a vote of 50 rather than 67 votes....the goal was to then change the rules of the Senate using the new 50 vote rule to attempt to block Democrats from filibustering. This attempt to change Senate rules was called the Nuclear Option and failed. Budget Reconciliation was not mentioned or opposed by the Democrats at that time.

Budget Reconciliation is an established process that has been used multiple times. It allows budget-impacting bills to be passed with a simple majority. Budget Reconciliation was used at least 4 times during the Bush Administration.

The Democrats OPPOSED an attempt to change the rules in 2005 (Nuclear Option) and are talking about using a process now that has been used multiple times and is already IN the rules (Budget Reconciliation).

I think its a great idea. The Dem's could have used the reconciliation rule in the beginning, but Obama didn't wants this right from the beginning. He wanted to reach across the isle, but the GOP who already had in their minds if they could stop healthcare reform it would be Obama's waterloo. This summit being televised is the last chance they get to work with the dems on healthcare reform.Obama wants to show the American people how much the GOP would rather see him fail then to help the people. The GOP used this rule 4 times when bush was in office. So what your saying is using this rule is only for the GOP.

They just don't get it! They need to concentrate on the economy and jobs, not health care. The citizens want a stronger economy and job opportunities, not government run health care. The only thing that was good about the "Cash for Clunkers" fiasco was that it succeeded in getting about 90% of the Obama bumper stickers off the roadways.

obama has held numerous summits, all of which were a waste of time and taxpayer money. I think this one will be more of the same. These are merely typical community activist meetings.
