Would you pay high premiums for a life insurance policy on a child with type 1 diabetes?

Child was on policy before diagnosis, through employer. Employer changed Life insurance company. New company won't carry her but old company can't dump her. Would you keep up with premiums? Second question... do all life insurance companies reject T1D? Where the child is grandfathered with the first company, is this something a person should hold onto?
Update: Added... this is not a sickly child. No permanent (retinal, kidney, other organ) damage. No neuropathy.
