WIndows XP is not detecting your DVD drive. The drive is probably totally fine but it will need the proper driver installed. You have two options:

Option 1: Windows Update. This will be the easiest option. Start > Control Panel > Windows Update. This should detect your DVD drive.

Option 2: Download & Install Drive. Slightly more difficult option. Find out which DVD drive you have (make & model #), google that result, go to manufacturers website, and download the driver to a USB stick. Plug that stick into your system and install the driver.

I also do remote tech support at a low cost if you can't figure it out. Good luck.

in many situations which capacity there's a topic rely keep in mind with the peice of hardware. the considerable perfect concern and least puzzling concern to do is to uninstall then reinstall the drivers. If that doesn't do it then be taught which you have the cables proper touching directly to the gadget, Motherboard, and ability furnish. If all that checks out ok then attempt contacting the producer or finding their help cyber web website. that for the duration of the process many situations does the trick.

We had that happen to us once, we had to replace the CD/DVD drive altogether. Then, it would work fine.
