Simple: Your better off staying in Cali.
Im telling you how it is:
No, first off, the grants will goto Arizona residents first, and second, Arizona is having an housing crisis and taxes are less, people are leaving the state and jobs and the biggest industry their (construction and new homes) has basically disappeared.
ASU is overcrowded, and known as a party school, they also accept basically everyone. Don't plan on getting a Dorm, they have very few ava., and your rent will be $750-1500 depending how close to the school for a small studio apartment, thats if you can qualify with your Minimum wage job (your ether gonna work Retail or Telemarketing in the PHX metro area. Don't plan on being able to park on campus, no room for your car.
The weather is not as nice as Cali, ether. No beach, lots of dust, to hot, and your car will get broken into all the time or stolen.
I was a resident and attend Mesa community, and was told there was no scholarship money left when I applied. It goes super fast, as Mesa community college has around 40,000 students (not all are full time), and the money goes to Minority and low income first.
Both ASU and MCC and other AZ CC colleges:
Classes fill up fast, waiting lists for classes, and forget finishing your degree on time, oh and its gonna cost you an Arm and a Leg to attend. They keep raising the tuition.
You'll goto Tent city (Jail in the 120F heat of the desert) if you and friends want to drink.
Positives of Arizona vs Cali?
It is slightly cheaper, but then again almost the same in price now, and the jobs in AZ pay crap compared to Cali.
Lived in AZ +20 years, Went to MCC, Visted ASU many times.
