When u c/o a letter, for example, John Doe c/o Jane Doe.. Does it give Jane Doe the right to open that mail?

    Not at all. Federal law prohibits anyone from opening mail not addressed to them.

  • No. I received mail at my parents' house even though I no longer live there and it's in c/o of my mom. She doesn't open my mail.

    No. C/O means in care of, but doesn't mean that it is their mail.
