What are some good restaurants in Stockholm, Sweden?

We're going to be in Stockholm for a few days in a couple of months. Does anyone have any favorite restaurants they'd suggest to us?

Hello, I work in the communications and travel industry. We review restaurants and other venues for any number of travel and news entities. For the best information on places to eat you might try Frommers. Their reviews and info is the best online. For interactive and up to date info a new travel destination online called Stay.com is creating one of the deepest data bases for this sort of inquiry.

F12 is by all accounts one of the best places to eat in Stockholm. This is a great place if you like innovative cuisine. Mathias Dahlgren is another traditional Swedish establishment of similar quality. I assume you wanted traditional and local selections?

The Stay.com reviews of these restaurants and others offers more images and detailed info. I am sure their site is upgrading to a new interface, but the one there now offers good advice even now.

    I hope this helped.

    Thanks Alston

It depends on your budget and preferences, but I can recommend some of my favorites.

    For a quick café meal:

String, Nytorgsgatan 38 (T Medborgarplatsen or Skanstull) http://www.cafestring.com/

    Konditori Valand, Surbrunnsgatan 48 (T Rådmansgatan) http://www.midcenturymodernist.com/2009/08/kondito...

Best view in Stockholm (and a great vegetarian buffet that even meat-eaters like):

    Hermans, Fjällgatan 23 (T Slussen) http://www.hermans.lunchinfo.com/5/restaurang_deta...

Good traditional Swedish food (the meatballs are highly recommended by friends):

    Pelikan, Blekingegatan 40 (T Skanstull) http://www.pelikan.se/sidor/eng_index.htm

Amazing dining room (and expensive prices to match):

Operakällaren, The Royal Opera House (T Kungsträdgården) http://www.eng.operakallaren.se/

Best pubs (for both food and beer):

    Soldaten Svejk, Östgötagatan 35 (T Medborgarplatsen) http://www.svejk.se/index_en.html

    Akkurat, Hornsgatan 2 (T Slussen) http://www.akkurat.se/

Great Thai food and fun atmosphere, reservations are needed unless you don't mind waiting:

    Koh Phangan, Skånegatan 57 (T Medborgarplatsen) http://www.kohphangan.se/hem-s.html

Favorite night out (tiny restaurant/jazz venue where new music graduates play), make reservations:

Glenn Miller Café, Brunnsgatan 21A (T Hötorget) http://www.glennmillercafe.com/

Eritrean food in a cozy atmosphere:

Je'bena, Kungsklippan (it's actually in the T Rådhuset station, underground) http://www.restaurantjebena.com/

And if you need to translate some of the pages, Google Translate gives a readable translation.
