Working in Texas and Paying IL state Tax?

Hello,

I am living and working in Texas and my company is in Chicago. My company is with holding the IL state tax for me. Do I have to pay the state tax of IL. I thought since I am living and working in Texas and Texas doesn't have state tax, I don't have to pay it.

Please let me know.

Thanks

If you are a resident of Texas you do not need to pay IL state income tax. File a non-resident return to get your withholding back. Then, talk to your human resources department to have them stop withholding IL taxes.
