You had to wait a long time before you were called for interview (probably for a role in TV or film), then, when you were called last year, the person before you in the interview line-up was J J Abrams (the famous film/TV producer who created "Lost" among other programmes). You feel that you were at a disadvantage, being seen right after someone so famous.

In show business, you never want to follow someone famous and popular. The audience likes the first person, in this case famous producer/director JJ Abrams (Lost, Star Trek, etc). They tend to resent someone who comes after him.
