Yankees Summary - Better off. The yanks are always going to hit. Jeter, A-Rod? They can live without Johnny Damon who couldn't possibly put up the numbers this year he did last year. Vasquez is really the key here. K's, K's K's he's the yankees next hope at best staff in the AL

Boston - Great off season. Although you lose Jason Bay, you pick up three good bats, especially in Beltre and Scutaro (assuming he can play at the same level). Lackey's a good arm to have and losing Wagner doesn't really mean a thing when you have Pap in the bull pen.

Tigers - What were they thinking. Valverde is a joke. You do pick up a prospect in Max Scherzer but seriously, when you lose all that talent you're bound to digress.

Twins - Break even. Hardy's a better prospect than O Cabrera but he's unproven. Maybe he'll be better suited in the AL. Thome's aging. He'll add little to your lineup but losing Gomez and redmond isn't the end of the world.

White Sox - You pick up too aged stars past their prime (Jones and Visquel) and Putz, whom I personally believe is overrated, but Getz and Podsednick aren't top tier stars either. Bottom line - Not much of a difference.

Angels - Forget making the playoffs. Losing Vlad and figgens, two of your linchpins is bad enough. Losing Oliver and Lackey as well as Escobar as a prospect out of your staff is almost as bad. Pinero is overrated. Rodney's inconsistent. The only player they got you can count on is godzilla.

Mariners - hello playoffs. Ad a cy young arm, speed from figgens and bradley, and power from Garko? Garko will replace Beltre straight up. They've three great players and lost little.

Phillies - You lose two startes to pick up Halliday, I thought it was a mistake. Why get rid of Lee? Most of the others are just filler players, the big question is simple: will halliday make as much of an impact on your season as Lee and Myers put together?

Cards - Brad Penny is a lost cause. Keeping Holiday was the best decision they ever made. It makes Pujols that much more effective. Derosa was a great U player but not a necessity to have and Rick ankiel was a flash in the pan. He'll never vault to super stardom anywhere.

Dodgers - Obviously trying to make some space with the salary. Wolf and Weaver are your big losses. The question becomes who's going to pick up those starts? They still will hit the ball but who knows how many runs per game they'll give up on average.

Rockies - Marquis had a great year but he won't do it again. Mora is a great player to have on your team, just ask the O's. Contreras is an unfortunate loss but it's manageable. Olivo might make up for losing Contreras but who can tell this early on.

Giants - Great deals. Derosa adds versatility and power. Huff adds power. You lose Brad Penny who's pretty much on his last leg unless he can seriously turn things around. and Randy Winn who's past his prime. Great off season.

    Hope that answers it

Yeah they can win but they will need some luck. I'd say Napoli should get a new midfielder and maybe even more reinforcements overall. I think Benítez is better than Mazzari, with all due respect. However, Mazzari knows how to win in Serie A and Benítez hasn't impressed me in Italy. If things go well then Napoli will surely finish in second place again. Napoli can contend for the Serie A title but Juventus looks like the best Italian team by far and therefore favorites. Napoli is gonna have to play perfectly to pull it off. Good luck to them

    AL

Halos - hurt, mostly because they weren't able to keep Lackey

Mariners - helped, provided that Bradley doesn't have too much of an adverse effect on team chemistry

Red Sox - helped, but only because of the addition of Lackey

Tigers - hurt, but only because they no longer have Granderson

Twins - neither (the pain of losing Cabrera's glove is offset by the boost from adding Thome's bat)

White Sox - helped, but only because of the addition of Putz

Yankees - too early to tell (it all depends on how Granderson handles the intense scrutiny of the NY media)

    NL

Cardinals - helped, but they would have been even better if they kept Pineiro instead of settling for Penny

    Dodgers - hurt

Giants - helped, mostly addition by subtraction

Phillies - hurt (disclaimer: best-case scenario for the team has the positives barely balancing out the negatives)

    Rockies - hurt

yankees hurt losing matsui and damon but got better with granderson and vazquez matsui is a clubhose leader so that hurts more

the redsox lost bay huge #s and with ortiz struggles could have difficulty matching them but the pitching gets better with lackey

tigers will hurt without granderson and polanco

the twins pretty much broke even

whitesox traded age for age and only get help from putz if he regains old form

the angels lose e leadoff man and big power #swithout figgons and vlad and piniero is an even trade for lackey i think

the mariners will be much better with lee in the rotation and now have more bats to go along with ichiro the only sore spot is bradley never know what you get with him

phils get the best pitcher in baseball today but lose 2 good ones in myers and lee but they also grabbed polanco who has been very good lately so i think if howard and utley continue to perform and werth keeps on progressing watch them

cardinals helped themselves by keeping holliday but they will lose alittle with the loss of piniero and derosa

the dodgers could not afford to lose pitching and then lost wolfe, weaver and garland not looking to good for them

rockies should have went for bigger bats to try to outscore teams but didnt and then they lost marguis their best pitcher not a very good offseason for them

the giants got better with huff and derosain the lineup still need a big bat though very good pitching so losing penny doesnt hurt as bad

Yanks-Neither. The Yankees were a great team to begin with and they still are.

    Red Sox-Same as the Yankees,

Tigers-In the long run, helped. It clears up some money. It'll hurt this year, but that's okay. (mwah ha ha)

    White Sox-Helped

    Angels-Hurt

    Mariners-Helped IMMENSELY

Phillies- They're about the same, so neither.

    Cards-Helped
