What are the pros and cons of assisted suicide? Thoughts?

The pros are that if you are at the point in your life when you are not going to recover from an illness like cancer, you shouldn't have to suffer for months until you can finally die. If you wish to put an end to your suffering, you should have every right to do so without putting a gun in your mouth. We don't let our pets suffer, but we force people to die slow, painful deaths. I can't think of any cons regarding it.

if you want to commit suicide just do it, hang yourself or jump into oncoming traffic or jump off a building, seriously there are so many options that you shouldnt even need to consider assisted suicide
