Any books to compare with The adventures of Tom Sawyer?

I need another book to compare a main theme in with this book. I cant find another book. Help?

    It depends on what you perceive the main theme to be. I can think of several possibilities, depending on what you want to do.

    The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton

    The Body by Stephen King (the novella Stand By Me was based on)

    To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

    Penrod by Booth Tarkington

    Harry Potter - both take on boys in different eras.

    Obviously Huck Finn is a good one.

    You could also look at antebellum South and compare to Uncle Tom's Cabin but that is pretty heavy.
