For the most part, no.
The United States is mostly one very large economy, with different resources being located in different geographical areas.
Each state does have some independent control over its own economy, and the capacity to form a "union" by making agreements with other states, but most of the important economic issues are controlled by federal law. Chief among these would be the fact that states are not allowed to charge tariffs to other states.
