Can I file for Taxes with H&R but use a free or cheaper state e-file somewhere else?

Another way of looking at it. can I take the new H&R file and use it to file for free. I live in PA.

I have prepared my state taxes with H&R block software already. I just want to e-file it, but without paying their $30 to e-file state.

Yes you can.. but remember you will have to input all your information again for your state taxes. When you file your state return with the federal on the same website, you just have to input your information once.

You are paying for the convenience.

Also, some state offer free filing on their state revenue website. See below for a list of all state revenue sites.

You are under no obligation to file your state taxes at the same site as you file your federal.
