Where do I go? India or Nepal ?

I have to choose either India or Nepal due to limited funds. Any travel connoisseurs out there? Where should I go?

    NEPAL !!

I spent 10 weeks volunteering in a small village in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Everyone thinks that Nepal is just a trekking destination...

Nepal has many many other delights awaiting the traveler.

When i went, the organization i volunteered with told me not to go outside the Kathmandu valley for safety reasons, so i didn't have a chance to do some of the world famous trekking that i wanted to do.

BUT!! there where so many great experiences for me in Kathmandu alone.

When i first arrived in Kathmandu, the place was just buzzing. I had never experienced anything like it. Just being there is an experience in its own! I have been to both Delhi,India and Nepal and the big difference for me is that in Nepal, people are more friendly and welcoming. I lived with a Nepalese family in their home for 10 whole weeks. I ate Dal Bhaat everysingle day :) except weekends when me and my group would go into Kathmandu City to stay for the night and we would go straight to the local Burger Joint !!!! :)

During my time i went on a short flight over the Himalayas to see Mt. Everest!!! That for me was just an amazing experience!!...I visited nearby Nagarkot.... This is where u go right up to the very top of a large hill (mountain to me lol) and u stay the night in the hotel and then just before sunrise you wake and go to the observation tower and watch the sunrise over Mt.Everest and the Himalayas!!! Amazing experience!!!!.... I also visited Patan Square,The Monkey Temple,Kathmandu Zoo, and lots of other Temples and places of interest....

At the weekends, me and my friends would go to stay the night in the main tourist area of Kathmandu .... THAMEL ! pronounced - "TOM- EL"..... Thamel is like a real backpacker adventerous travelers paradise... lots of little shops and souvenier shops, playing buddhist meditation music with the smell of insence in the air!! just a magical place... i used to sit and people watch.... watch the real hardcore travelers walking by... just amazing :)

We would always go for a few drinks to this same one bar - SAMS BAR!

it had cushions to sit on the floor... nicely decorated... just a nice chillout bar with such friendly staff...

overall Nepal for me was life changing...!!

Living with a family for 10 weeks made me experience the country and hindu culture in a way that most tourists dont get to...

My advice is go to NEPAL ! you wont regret it :)

Nepal. It's packed full of cultural heritage and nature. Plus, the people are really friendly and the crime rate is really low. You could walk through streets and alleys in Kathmandu at midnight and nothing would happen to you. The same can t be said about India (no offence to anybody). I hope this helps

It all depends on what you want to enjoy. If you want to enjoy the trekking with spectacular views, may be Nepal is the place to be. You could also enjoy the medieval cultural heritages and many adventure sports like bungy jump, paragliding, rafting and others.

Well......that depends on which country you would like to visit. This is your chance to visit either Nepal or India and I think you should visit Nepal to view its beautiful scene of Mount Everest or the landscapes. GOOD LUCK!!!!!
