Pocahontas married John Wolfe in 1614 at age 19 Rolfe was 33. John Winthrop was 27. In 1607 when they supposedly met John Smith was 27 and Pocahontas 11. While the age difference may not have been much today in an age of short life expectancy (42 years) it would have been important. Pocahontas died in 1617 at age 22. The Pocahontas/ Rolfe marriage appears to have been a love match. Their descendants were known as the 'Red Rolfes" an all remained in the English culture. Relation to Pocahontas was a exemption to the "One Drop rule" of the 1800s. Under this the Rolfe family would have been classified as Native American. However, due to their descendants being in most of the 'good" families of Virgina there was the "Pocahontas exemption"

You do realize she was actually a slave, right?

Edit: I see truth is offensive to racists.
