    (14)Maria Sharapova vs Maria Kirlienko

-Hopefully Sharapova doesnt get knocked out in the first round... I mean i dont think that she will because of her impressive straight set wins over Venus and Woaniacki, so I'm going with MariaS on this one..

    Louk Sorensen vs Yen-Hsun Lu

Louk Sorensen from Ireland :D I hope he wins. (he's a cutie.)

    (33)John Isner vs Andreas Seppi

I would think that Isner would win, with his big serve, if he could take out Roddick in the US Open, then he should have no problem with Seppi..

    (13)Radek Stepanek vs Ivo Karlovic

this should be good.. I think that Stepanek is going to struggle, but will ultimately beat Karlovic, it'll be tough with Karlovic being a big server..

    (27)Alisa Kleybanova vs Jelena Dokic

I say Dokic, she has the australian crowd behind her, and made it all the way to the QF last year.

    Kirsten Flipkens vs Justine Henin

i'm going with Henin, she looked great in her opening tournament, and only lost to Clijsters, who was playing great.. and Henin needs to win to set up a great second round match against Dementieva!

    (14)Marin Cilic vs Fabrice Santoro

Cilic, no doubt. Cilic is just the better player..

    (12)Flavia Pennetta vs Anna Chakvetadze

    Pennetta, despite her recent loss..

    (8)Jelena Jankovic vs Monica Niculesu

Jankovic! she should make it past the first round.. and although she isnt playing her best, i will give her some credit.. she is ranked 8 in the world!

    Jarrko Nieminen vs Nick Lindhal

    Jarrko Nieminen winner. :D

    (2)Dinara Safina vs Magdalena Rybarikova

Hopefully Safina wont die out.. she made it to the finals last year.. :D

  • I am so excited for tomorrow! But I might have to miss the beginning matches to see the Jets / Chargers game (damn you poor scheduling!)

Maria vs Maria: I really would like Kirilenko to win, because 1. she's nice to look at, and 2. she has had so much failure and mediocre results in the past years, that I can't help but root for her. And it's no secret that I am not a big Sharapova fan. But Maria S is playing well, and I think she is definately going to make it to the semis, unless Cibulkova stops her..again. Sharapova to win 6-4 6-3.

Sorensen vs Lu: Well when I looked at the men's draw, I was shocked to see an Irish person! I love feel good stories, and I will definately be rooting for him. So Louk to win 4-6 7-5 7-6 4-6 7-5.

Isner vs Seppi: It's nice to see John with a number in front of his name at a Slam. I know people are counting on him and Querrey to take over Blake and Roddick once they retire (well technically they are both doing better than James haha). But anywho, Isner just won a title this week, and should win in straights. Isner 6-4 6-3 6-4.

Stepanek vs Isner: Ivo can hit 100 aces in this match and he STILL won't beat Radek Stepanek tomorrow, haha. Stepanek to win 7-6 5-7 7-6 6-4.

Kleybanova vs Dokic: Well last year both of these women made an impact on the draw, and one of them will lose a lot of points! The Meblourne crowd will be rooting for Dokic, which will help her, so Jelena 4-6 6-3 6-2..

Justine vs Flipkins: I think Henin has proved herself capeable of beating people outside of the top 30..so I think she will have no problem beating her (Elena is her true test!). Henin 7-6 6-3.

Cilic vs Santoro: When the hell will Fabrice retire, and stay retired!? I actually really want Santoro to win because there is somebody underneath them that I want to advance (maybe it was Gasquet?). But Cilic is a tall order for him, so Cilic 6-4 6-2 5-7 6-3.

Pennetta vs Chakvetadze: Anna has been gradually, slowly improving. She is no where near her top 5 status, but she's young, everything is a process. Flavia will take this one though, but mark my words Anna Chakvetadze will get back into the top 10, even if it's when she's 28. Flavia will win 6-3 2-6 6-2.

Jankovic vs Niculesu: This is a good match for JJ! The Romanian is a steady player, and somebody Jankovic might even be able to move around the court. She'll gain confidence from this one. JJ 6-3 6-3..

Nieminen vs Lindhal: I haven't heard from Jarrko in a while, but I bet he can win this one, but it will be a struggle 6-4 5-7 6-3 7-6.

Safina vs Rybarikova: Same case as JJ, this could be a confidence boosting match. Rybarikova is not playing as well as she was last year. Safina 6-4 6-4.

Sharapova (I think she may very well have a run like before where she destroyed everyone in her path if she has fixed that serve) 6-4 6-3

    Hsun-Lu 6-4 7-6 7-5

Isner - Go John! He's now the 2nd-ranked American behind only Roddick, can you believe that? He just squeaked past Querrey with his Auckland title. 6-4 7-5 6-7 6-3

    Stepanek 6-7 7-5 6-4 5-7 7-6

Kleybanova - Sorry Dokic, but this is a tough first-rounder and I don't know where she is physically and mentally. 6-4 5-7 6-3

Henin - It's crazy that people might think she'll lose to Flipkens. But she does have a very tough draw and I don't think she'll make it very far. 6-4 6-3

Cilic - The dark horse of the tournament is this tall Croat. He's been steadily improving and I think he follows up his US Open quarterfinal breakthrough with perhaps one step higher. 6-3 6-4 6-1

Pennetta - The Italian is just a solid player all-around, and I think she should be able to get through this rather easily. 6-3 6-1

Jankovic - Not to disappoint her fans, but I don't think she will be a regular contender for slams anymore. 6-4 6-3

    Nieminen 6-3 5-7 6-4 6-4

Safina - Look for her to silence her critics and win a slam this year. Maybe not here, but somewhere along the line (I think Roland Garros is her best chance). 6-3 6-1

    Hmm, very interesting.

    I think,

Sharapova- she's really wanting to go back up in rankings and she's been working really hard

    Sorensen

Isner- his height is a major advantage; his serve is very powerful

Stepanek- played very well at the end of the year, especially at the Paris Masters

    Dokic

Henin- did amazing vs. Clijsters, she's def. looking to come back and race up the rankings

Cilic- again, height = major advantage, and he's def. looking to break into the higher rankings

Penetta- she did very good in the cup vs. the u.s., def. has a lot of power in her hits

Jankovic- she's still good and sticking around, truth is she's just better than Niculesu

    Lindhal

Safina- she's number two, and Rybarikova probably won't be able to handle what's coming at her
