the haiti earthquake ...?

this is weird but yesterday at 10:30 i was reading at school while i was reading in class i looked around an everything was slightly shaking at first i thought it was the underground generator powering the lights but this morning i saw it on the news about haiti ,dont you think thats alittle weird

my qeustion is what time was it in haiti if it was 10:30 in north carolina

I'm pretty sure Haiti and North Carolina are in the same time zone, so unless I'm wrong, 10:30 in Haiti is also 10:30 in North Carolina.
