    1) Infrared Radiation is a kind of electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength between 0.7 and 300 micrometres, which is longer than visible light but shorter than microwaves.

    2)In military application, it is mainly used in night vision. Infrared astronomy uses sensor-equipped telescopes to penetrate dusty regions of space, such as molecular clouds; detect cool objects such as planets, and to view highly red-shifted objects from the early days of the universe.

    However, strong infrared radiation in certain industry high heat settings may constitute a health hazard to the eyes and the vision. More so, since the radiation is invisible. Therefore special IR proof protective eyeglasses must be worn in such places.
