Can a goaltender be the captain of an Olympic team?
Could Miller or Thomas be captain of team USA?
Could Luongo or Brodeur be captain of team Canada?
I'm not asking *will* they, I am asking if a goaltender could be named captain, or if there was a rule against it.
Miller, Thomas, Luongo, and Brodeur were just examples.

^^^ Jamie Langenbrunner has been named the captain.......
"A"'s are Rafalski, Parise, Brown and Suter..........Drury didn't even get an "A".
To answer the Q.......IIHF rules do not permit a goalie as captain.

Roberto Luongo is the captain for my Vancouver Canucks right now, though it is unofficial since he is a goalie.
So technically if an Olympic team does have a goalie for their team they would not be wearing the C on their jersey.
