Is homophobia an illogical and bias excuse to discriminate? Please read, more information inside..?

This looks very long, it's true. But go along with it and it will become easier to read once you get into your stride - it's not actually THAT long of a read. Thanks...

The word "phobia" generally insists that you are scared of a particular thing. A definition from Answers.com would describe the word's meaning as "an intense, abnormal, or illogical fear of a specified thing". Got that covered? Right.

Christianity is a religion amongst others of which disagrees with homosexuality. They claim that the Bible reads that homosexuality is wrong and it clearly does. For example:

Lev. 20:30 "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them."

To state that God was the one to write the Bible is manipulative and false. These are man's words and there is proof to defend this statement - the bible itself says that all scripture was written by the inspiration of God, and this is referring to God's witnesses, who supposedly wrote down NOT what God said, but what God inspired them to say. Right?

Inspiration meaning: "Something, such as a sudden creative act or idea, that is inspired."

MAN was inspired by God to write the Bible. So, if the Bible is actually not manipulated, (which in the Christians' eyes, it is not) then it is perfect shape and nothing has changed since it was composed by God's witnesses. Or, perhaps in the Christians' eyes, it has changed to fit time periods, but it has not been manipulated. Happy so far, Christians? Good.

But, hang on one moment. Man? What is man? Man lies, cheats, steals, envies, kills, hates, etc...How can we trust something penned by man, God's witness or not? The Christians believe that Adam and Eve were the first humans to be created on earth. God made them, and that is, in most Christians' eyes, a fact. And yet both Adam and Eve committed a blatant sin against God's words.

So, if Adam and Eve, two people who the Christians believe to be those whom God made as the first two people on this earth, sinned, then why is it that the Christians cannot bring themselves to believe that there is a chance, whether tiny, small or big, that God's witnesses who were also related/linked directly to God (just as Adam and Eve were) could not have written down false, bias, discriminative information into the Bible? How is it that the Christians cannot, for one moment, believe that there is an equal chance that the Bible may have been manipulated by the newer generation of MAN in all of this time since it was first written?

Because they'd be going by the word of God? How? The Bible is man-made, remember. And therefore, they would merely be thinking for themselves, even if it was for a split second.

The Bible is man's inspired-by-God's words. It was not written by God and there is proof to that. So, why can the Christians not accept that the Bible has an equal, if not higher chance of being somewhat false, bias, etc. about certain things including homosexuality instead of allowing their ego, (every human has an ego - that was not an insult) get in the way of what MAY be the truth?

There are so many possibilities; why, as a Christian, is YOURs correct? Because it says so in the man-made Bible? Man cheats, envies, kills and hates as I have stated. There's an equal chance that the Bible is false as there is correct. Therefore, you're letting your ego blind you.

If you had the chance to learn the truth (whether you turned out to be correct or incorrect) would you take that chance? Or would you let your ego stand in the way of becoming empowered by, again, the truth?

Is homophobia an illogical and bias excuse to discriminate?

Update:

Nice answers.

May I also say that I'm only thirteen years of age, and yet, even I am able to understand and spot the illogical holes within the Christian religion. haha.

The Bible itself is illogical and an excuse for homophobia. All Gods were created by Man for the purpose of controlling people en masse, and the weak-minded who can't think for themselves will readily adopt this lifestyle choice. A fairytale book such as the Bible is open to misinterpretation and often misquoted to suit the individual needs of specific religious groups.

God made no-one. Nature and evolution created all life on Earth. Nature created Man, Man created God.

Jesus says nothing about same-sex behavior.

The Jewish prophets are silent about homosexuality.

Only six or seven of the Bible's one million verses refer to same-sex behavior in any way; none of these verses refer to homosexuality as it's understood today

The bible is a book about God, not on sexuality.

Leviticus 18:6 reads: "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female. It is an abomination." Leviticus 20:13: "A man who sleeps with another man is an abomination and should be executed."

Just below the surface of these words is the deeper truth about God -- and it has nothing to do with sex. Leviticus is a holiness code (list of behaviors that people of faith find offensive in a certain place and time. In this case, the code was written for priests only, and its primary intent was to set the priests of Israel over and against priests of other cultures) written 3,000 years ago. This code also includes prohibitions against round haircuts, tattoos, working on the Sabbath, wearing garments of mixed fabrics, eating pork or shellfish, getting your fortune told, and even playing with the skin of a pig. (There goes football!!!)

Jesus and Paul both said the holiness code in Leviticus does not pertain to Christian believers. Nevertheless, there are still people who pull the two verses about men sleeping together from this ancient holiness code to say that the Bible SEEMES to condemn homosexuality.

The Bible also says that sex with a prostitute is acceptable for the husband but not for the wife. Polygamy's acceptable, as is a king's having many concubines. (Solomon, the wisest king of all, had 1,000 concubines.) Slavery and sex with slaves, marriage of girls aged 11-13, and treatment of women as property are all accepted practices in the Scriptures. There are strict prohibitions against interracial marriage, birth control, discussing or even naming a sexual organ, and seeing one's parents nude.

The Bible has been misused to defend bloody crusades and tragic inquisitions; to support slavery, apartheid, and segregation; to persecute Jews and other non-Christian people of faith; to support Hitler's Third Reich and the Holocaust; to oppose medical science; to condemn interracial marriage; to execute women as witches; and to support the Ku Klux Klan. Shakespeare said it this way: "Even the devil can cite Scripture for his purpose."
