If you like the twilight books, try the House of Night series.
The broker by John Grishan - a legal thriller
any book by robert ludlum (if you like spy/espionage type stuff) he wrote the books that the bourne movies were based on.
Pillars of the Earth and World Without End by Dan follett (11th century non fiction - my favorite books, but long ones)
If I see a movie preview that looks good, I check if there is a book, I get a head start on the movie and usually a much better story anyway.
One example is Eragon, I loved the book (fantasy nonfiction) but didn't love the movie too much, Another good thing is that the Eragon books continue, there are 2 others written and one more on the way, Where the movie leaves off, you get to continue the story and don't have to wait to see if they will make another
Hope this helps :)
