with the z-boys or tony hawk? as you know the z-boys are considered pioneers in skating. but rodney mullen invented the tricks we use today. is there any connection between them?

Rodney Mullen has a connection with Tony Hawk and the ZBoys. Rodney turned professional as a member of the Bones Brigade sponsored by Powell Peralta. In 1978, George teamed up with Stacy Peralta forming Powell Peralta. Their the connection with the ZBoys and with Tony Hawk. Both Rodney Mullen and Tony Hawk were members of the Bones Brigade.

Z-boys came before Mullen. Tony Hawk is a contemporary to Mullen, but they skate different styles, as Tony Hawk is a transition skater.
