    The first world war was fought between the years 1914 and 1918.

    Many important events took place during this time.

    But ............

    On 3rd of September 1939 England declared war on Germany

    Prime minister Neville Chamberland went on radio to announce this declaration, after Hitler ignored international demands that he remove German troops from Poland, a partner of England.

    Germany had invaded Poland 3 days before.

    This was perhaps the biggest single event between 1912 and 1945
