Area of a sector help...?

Find the area of a sector with a central angle of 2pi/15 and a radius of 18.8 m. Round to the nearest tenth. ______________square meters

Please explain how to do this and also the correct answer. Thanks

    Sectors are a bit like triangles with altitude r and base rθ, the arc length of the sector. So the area is (1/b)(base)(altitude) = (1/2)(r)(rθ) = (1/2) r^2 θ. So just plug in r = 18.8 and θ = 2pi/15 compute it.

    Note: radians are designed to make all these formulas simple.

    The area

    A=0.5(18.8^2)(2pi/15)=>

    A=74.02 sq.m
