A rough guess is about 3 hours from wheels up at San Francisco to wheels down at Vancouver. I base this on 2 -3 hours from San Francisco to Seattle and then another half hour or so from Seattle to Vancouver. It will be longer if you make a pitstop along the way in Portland or Seattle as many flights do. You are looking at about 1200 air miles. Most aircraft will fly at 400-500 MPH up and down the coast. Planes do not fly over land for the most part, but use air corridors several miles offshore and only turn inland to reach the airports. There are a lot of variables which will affect actual flight time which is why I say I am guessing at 3 air hours. Call any travel agent. They should be able to give you the actual scheduled flight time for direct point to point traffic or for a commuter that stops in Portland and Seattle along the way. Be aware that getting into and out of Canada now requires the new special ID's or a valid passport. A simple driver's license (like I have) no longer is valid for claiming citizenship to get back IN to the US at the border, which means I will not be going to the Winter Olympics, even though they are being held only about 100 miles north and east of where I live.

If you are flying on a commercial jet such as United, probably 2 ours or less. (in air only) If you fly on a private plane such as a Beachcraft 58, maybe 5 hours. Anything smaller would take 8 or more hours.
