    (1) The cost of each DVD recorder is $80000/50 = $1600

    The marked selling price = $1600 * (1 + 25%) = $2000

    Total sales for 35 recorders = 35 * $2000 = $70000

    The selling price of the remaining (50 - 35) = 15 recorders is

    $2000 * 30% = $600

    Total sales for these 15 recorders = 15 * $600 = $9000

    Therefore total sales = 70000 + 9000 = $79000

    Loss = $80000 - $79000 = $1000

    Loss percentage = 1000/80000 * 100% = 1.25%

    (2) Since the marked price of $216 has 25% profit, the cost of the watch is

    $216 / (1 + 25%)

    = $172.8

    Total cost of 80 watches = 80 * $172.8 = $13,824

    Sales of all 80 watches = 65 * $216 + 15 * $180 = $16,740

    Profit = 16740 - 13824 = $2916

    Profit percentage = 2916 / 13824 * 100% = 21 & 3/32 %
