I like reading first person, I like to be in a character's head and feel their emotions. I find them more rememberable too.
But it depends on your book. If there are lots of characters in your book and there is lots of action then third person will probably be better because readers will want to know what the other characters are up to. If it has a lot of emotion in it then first person. I'm writing a story in first person but it's in the viewpoint of four people so there is more of a variety.
For names I use http://www.behindthename.com/random/ , it's great
It doesn't give you surnames but I just select 'first name and 3 middle names.' and usually there is a middle name that sounds like a surname. Refresh the page for different names

1st person is the most used.. 3rd person could also be a good choice... but, if you want a challenge go for 2nd person...
It really depends on the story... if it is fixated around one person... i think you should go for 1st person.. if it is fixated around an event or a place... i think you should go for 3rd person... I never read a novel/book written in 2nd person, but I know they exist.. so I've got nothing on that...
i've got nothing for 2,3 and 4... ..i'm sorry..
hope this helped though...
