Question about "The Closer"?

I have missed a few episodes of The Closer. Last week, Fritz came home with a kitten for Brenda. What happened to Kitty, the cat Brenda had in the previous seasons?

she had to give it shots 2 times a day, and it wouldn't eat, and so Fritz took it..and had it put to sleep. I love this show

She had to put it to sleep because it was old and sick and it really upset her.
