The electromagnetic spectrum is a set of waves differing in frequency and wavelength and stretching from gamma rays (at the high frequency, short wavelength end of the spectrum) through X-rays, ultraviolet, visible, infrared, microwaves, to TV and radio waves at the low frequency, long wavelength end of the spectrum. All these waves are oscillating electric and magnetic fields and are subject to reflection, refraction and diffraction. When they interact with atoms they behave like tiny particles (photons) and carry energy E = hf where h is Planck's constant and f is the frequency.

The entire range of wavelengths of all known electromagnetic radiations extending from gamma rays through visible light, infrared, and radio waves, to X-rays.

    hope that helps :)
