Why was female Karla Faye Tucker sentenced to death in Texas?

Karla Faye Tucker was a pretty sweethearted woman who fought passionately to help her boyfriend steal a motorcycle from a real jerk.

So she helped him stab and kill the owner of the motorcycle and his mistress, using an ax.

Then she went to jail and became a Christian and a kind caring person who should have had her death sentence commuted to life in prison.

Why was Karla Faye Tucker given the DEATH sentence? Wasn't it unfair

Because a lot people like her go to prison and all of sudden find Jesus. He did the crime and now she has to pay. I'm not saying people can't change. ><

She was executed for her actions in the brutal murders of two other people.

If she were a truly converted Christian, she would have understood the necessity of her accepting her just punishment.

Aside to ill-informed person below: the governor of Texas doesn't have the power to commute a death sentence unless it is first recommended to him/her by the Board of Pardons and Paroles. The Governor only has the power to issue one single 30-day stay of execution. Yes, the governor can request that the Board consider clemency, but there was no reason to assume he would or should do it for self-claimed Christian converts.

Because Bush is a killer, be it in Iraq or on death row. He made fun of Karla in addition. Even Conservatives like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson asked Bush to spare her. If I am not mistaken Bush executed more persons than any other Governor during his 4 year reign as Governor

Would you think it was okay if she were male? What if it was this dudes best male friend? Then the sentence would be okay?

    BWAAAHAHAHAAA...

I guess the bad man made her do it. Finding God is convenient after helping to murder two people. There is still the punishment, even if there is forgiveness. It's the price you pay.

It was a fair sentence. too bad more are not sent to death row. Really horrible crimes need that, and too many skate off and plug up the jail system.

because she was a blood-thirsty psychopath. reading a book does not alter the blood-thirsty psycho part.

She is in Heaven with Jesus and her victims enjoying a nice cup o tea....if anything is unfair, it is that murder victims have to spend eternity with their killers.

And people say Christianity is not a sickness of the mind...people are wrong.

Eric, actions have consequences. Just because someone didn't mean to kill you, wouldn't mean that you'd be any less dead.

    She got what she deserved.

I can't understand why anyone should be "spared" solely because they "found Jesus" -
