When does the body use amino acids for energy?

    the body begins the use amino acids (protein) for energy when ALL carbohydrate, then fat reserves are depleted (respectively).

    this is serious as your body basically begins to eat itself and athletes can lose limbs and parts of their intestines.

    this happened a few years ago to a man in Wagga Wagga who ran a marathon on a 40C+ day and did not prepare (nutritionally) properly.
