No. Not omnipresent, but he has an army of 1/3 of all the angels that God created roaming the earth all the time seeking to destroy people's lives. Not omnipotent, but he knows what will tempt us, mainly because we reveal it to him in conversation and actions. He is smart enough to know human nature and observant enough to attack each of us right where he is most effective. Not omnicient, but remember he spent a lot of time in heaven before his fall. He learned scripture, straight from the Author's mouth, and was one of the arch angels having the inside scoop on everything going on (in the inner circle, if you will). Giving mankind a real challenge? Please, it's easier for Satan to keep man in the darkness because man is already there. Man is born with a sinful intent in his heart......to be self absorbed. Man has to be taught to think of someone besides himself. Our natural state is the pride of life......sin. Satan didn't destroy God's perfect creation....man's choice to disobey the only rule God gave him was what destroyed this perfect world. And because man would rather be in charge of his own life, Satan doesn't have to do a lot to keep man in that state, except keep telling man that he is as smart as God. Surely God would not kill you for being smart. Sound familiar? He's still telling those same old lies he told in the garden....and man is still choosing to believe Satan rather than the Creator...go figure. The hardest challenge man will ever have in life is to drop all his defenses and completely turn his life over to God. To quit trying to run his life, quit being in charge, to become vulnerable and open and honest and admit he is a mess, a sinful creature with no hope to help himself. Admit his need for God to save him from himself and call on God to do it, through the blood of Jesus, Christ. If that's not a challenge then why so many on here scoff and pretend they have every thing under control in their lives. They're not fooling anyone but themselves. There's the challenge....to face your own truth and then turn to God.
