What is the average house size in the U.S in the 1950s (in square feet)?

According to these sites the average was about 1100 to 1200 square feet in the 1950's.

Average size house in the 1950's was about 1100 square feet. Some were smaller at about 900 square feet(My grandma's house) :) Very quaint. Love it.
