Red Badge of Courage.Quick Question.?
I'm doing a color imagery paper and Crane refers to the regiment as a "blue demonstration." Why blue?And what does that mean?

Blue = Union Army
Grey = Confederate Army

As Union soldiers, they wore blue uniforms, so I assume that the "blue demonstration" was simply the regiment, drilling or perhaps marching in formation as a show of strength.Source(s): Retired English professor
